Indian Classical Dance at the Canadian Museum of Civilization Gatineau, Quebec, July 30, 2004 — This August 11, you are invited to join the High Commission of India (in co-operation with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and the Canadian Museum of Civilization) in commemorating the 57th anniversary of India’s independence.
The event will feature an Odissi (Indian classical dance) performance by renowned dancer Kiran Segal and her troupe. Kiran Segal is an outstanding performer, a brilliant choreographer, and her productions are acclaimed for their intensity and sensitivity. She stands out as a leader in one of the oldest classical dance forms of India, while maintaining a commitment to incorporating contemporary elements into her productions. A nationalist by nature, she has always been at the forefront, propagating art and culture through her dance.
Indian Classical Dance at the CMC August 11, 2004 6:30 p.m. Theatre Canadian Museum of Civilization Admission is free. However, the number of tickets is limited. Tickets available at the CMC Box Office and at the High Commission of India.
