Les Journées de la culture
Three days of free activities at the Canadian Museum of Civilization

Gatineau, Quebec, September 14, 2004 - To celebrate the Journées de la culture, from September 24 to 26, the Canadian Museum of Civilization is offering the public a chance to see some exceptional exhibitions at no cost whatsoever.

On Friday, September 24, come and tour Once in French America, a major exhibition on life in New France, in the company of curator Jean-Pierre Hardy (in French). At the same time, curator Sheldon Posen will give a guided tour (in English) of the exhibition "Rocket" Richard: The Legend - The Legacy, which tells the moving story of this hockey immortal.

On September 25 and 26, the Museum will offer guided tours of the Canada Hall. This permanent exhibition, the largest and most frequently visited in the Museum, takes you through 1,000 years of social history. The tours start at 10:00 a.m. in French and 2:00 p.m. in English.

Coffee and Conversation: Hockey in Our Imagination - The Rocket Lives On!
On Sunday, September 26, join us for coffee and a talk given by Marc Robitaille, author, screenwriter and ardent Montreal Canadiens hockey fan. Mr. Robitaille will speak about growing up in the 1960s, his book Une enfance bleu-blanc-rouge, and his film, Histoire d'hiver. The presentation will be given in French at 12:30 p.m. and in English at 2:00 p.m.
