Hallowe’en at the Canadian Children's Museum Gatineau, Quebec, October 19, 2004 — The Canadian Children’s Museum is offering a host of spooky and fun activities for Hallowe’en again this year. All activities are free with admission to the Canadian Museum of Civilization, which includes the Canadian Children’s Museum.
Bat Hunt October 19 to 24 and 26 to 31 – throughout the day There will be bats on hats, under mats and bats taking naps. Find all the bats hiding throughout the Museum to get a neat treat!
Hallowe’en Howl Friday, October 29 It’s time to get ready for Hallowe’en! Come in your favourite disguise or make your own paper bag costume at the Museum. Next, go trick-or-treating in our International Village, dine on gruesome snacks you make in the Studio, and then head over to our Theatre to watch a magic show at 10:00 a.m. (in English) or at 11:00 a.m. (in French).
Day of the Dead Saturday, October 30 and Sunday, October 31 – 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Join us at our Mexican home to celebrate Mexico’s annual custom of remembrance known as Los Dias de los Muertos. You can listen to the music of a mariachi band while you make your own paper flowers and calacas (paper skeletons). Head over to the Studio for a cooking workshop at 11:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., where you’ll make sugar skulls to add to the family altar. This programme was developed in collaboration with the Embassy of Mexico and members of the community.
