Play It By Ear with the Suzuki School of Music at the Canadian Children’s Museum Gatineau, Quebec, December 30, 2005 — Students from the Suzuki School of Music in Ottawa will perform four short concerts on Sunday, January 9, 2005 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. The concerts will be held in the Canadian Children’s Museum, part of the Canadian Museum of Civilization, and they will begin with the younger student violinists, followed by the young cellists and the flautists. The performance will conclude with the older students playing violin.
This is an opportunity for visitors to enjoy music performed by children who have learned to play music by ear through the Suzuki method. Children and their families will have a chance to see and touch the various musical instruments and ask questions about the Suzuki approach to musical education.

This is also the last chance to see Play It By Ear, a travelling exhibition at the Canadian Children’s Museum which closes at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2005. Play It By Ear is a delightful learning experience for the whole family. It gives children a rare opportunity to touch, experience and play with contemporary sound art. Kids can create and explore the properties of sound as they pound, crank and strum the objects in the exhibition and expand their experience of art and their understanding of sound.
