To mark the 400th anniversary of the French presence in North America in 2004, the Direction des Archives de France, Library and Archives Canada, and the Canadian Embassy in Paris provide access to a virtual exhibition and a database containing more than one million images

The exhibition, "Cultivating Canadian Gardens", tells the story of gardening in Canada through books, periodicals, and printed materials collected, for the most part, by the National Library of Canada. It begins with the Hurons who have been tending their crops long before Europeans arrived in North America, and concludes with a brief overview at the flood of printed material now available across the country.

Un Jésuite au Canada au XVIIe siècle.
The Gironde's Archives contains a small manuscript in fine writing, illustrated with ten ink engravings. The author of this piece is a Jesuit missionary that spent half of his life (thirty-two years) from 1677 to 1709, in Canada. The title of this manuscript is: "Narration annuelle de la mission du Sault depuis sa fondation jusques à l'an 1686."
