A Fashion Show to Make History!

Gatineau, Quebec, June 28, 2002 — Corsets, high heels and tight-fitting garments — fashionable women past and present have never let discomfort get in the way of looking their best. The Canadian Postal Museum invites you to come on Sunday, July 7 to see A Show of Style, a historical fashion show featuring the highlights and development of feminine fashions through the decades.

Our models will be wearing thirty-odd fashion ensembles from the 1900s to the 1970s. In daywear, evening gowns or summer dresses, they will evoke the elegance of the past, while a host explains the main fashion trends of each decade and shares stories on the history of mail-order catalogues and major companies like Sears, Eaton’s and Dupuis-Frères.

Classic hits from the 1900s to the 1960s have been selected to recreate the atmosphere of a Garden Party. Join us for the celebration!
