AN ADVENTURE IN NEW FRANCE
Pierre Boucher, Interpreter and Explorer
An adventure in New France is an educational site that deals with simple notions in
the field of social sciences.
This site targets children of the senior elementary level, who will explore the site with
their guide, Pierre Boucher. While reading an imaginary travel diary, students are
given the opportunity to live the experiences of the famous pionneer and they must consult
various documents in order to situate the events in their proper context. During their
"voyage", participants are invited to maintain their own personal diary
and communicate their discoveries to other students.
The description of the activity outlines the
subject and suggests a process to the students.
Teachers can refer to the User Guide for
educational notes and a description of the contents of the site
The main menu provides direct access to the
steps of the exploration as well as a time line.
This site was developed for the Canadian Museum of Civilization by Clément Beaudoin
and Hélène-Andrée Bizier of Edirom and by Socom Technologies with the collaboration of
Denis Longtin and Gilles Bousquet of the Taillon School Board.
