A concert of sacred music to recall the era of New France

Gatineau, Quebec, September 17, 2004 - On Wednesday, September 29, at 8 p.m., in the Grand Hall of the Canadian Museum of Civilization, enjoy a concert by musicians and vocalists from Montréal’s Les Boréades, who will be joined by young sopranos from Les Voix d’Elles, another group from the Montréal region. They will perform spiritual and religious music from 16th and 17th-century France, offering you an experience reminiscent of convent chapel music in New France around the year 1700.

Tickets are $20 and are available at the Museum Box Office, (819) 776-7000. This concert was organized in partnership with the Outaouais Festival of Sacred Music, and it is presented in conjunction with Once in French America, a major exhibition on the 400th anniversary of French settlement in North America that looks at how people lived and developed new societies.
