Fashion and Image
One way or another, fashion is part of life for all of us, whether we like to be at its forefront, fit in with the mainstream or shun fashion altogether. What we wear expresses our own personality. In the first half of this century, every conceivable possibility in millinery design was explored: from the extravagant hats of the early 1900s, to the elegant cloche hats of the 1920s, to the imaginative styles of the 1930s and 1940s. Then the hat began to disappear, as men and women found its conventions inappropriate to the new informality of daily life. |
