Canadian Mail Order Catalogues
The Digital Library of Canada Task Force is pleased to announce the launch of Canadian Mail Order Catalogues, which provides access to 22 fully digitized catalogues spanning the decades from the 1880s to the 1970s. The catalogues are searchable and browsable, and users can view full-page images or zoom in to take a closer look.
The second phase of this project will add another 22 catalogues, and will see Canadian Mail Order Catalogues incorporated in a larger site on the history of mail order in Canada. This larger site is currently in development with the Canadian Postal Museum at the Canadian Museum of Civilization, and Museum and Heritage Services, City of Toronto, with funding from the Canadian Heritage Information Network's Virtual Museum of Canada Investment Program.
