Dive into the Deep Sea alongside Amazing Coral Reefs

Gatineau, Quebec, October 10, 2003 — Starting October 10, 2003, the IMAX Theatre invites audiences on a journey to the South Pacific, to experience an outstanding Coral Reef Adventure.

Coral Reef Adventure follows the remarkable journey of two extraordinary individuals, Howard and Michele Hall, as they document some of the world’s most beautiful yet endangered coral reefs. Guided by the Halls, audiences will be transported to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, to Fiji, Tahiti, French Polynesia, and into the ocean’s mysterious “Twilight Zone”. Joined by scientists and conservationists, the Halls work to understand the challenges that threaten the reefs, while also helping to put in place early detection procedures which will help identify potentially endangered reefs. Also appearing in the film are the world-renowned Jean-Michel Cousteau and Richard Pyle, a deep-sea ichthyologist (and self-described fish nerd!).

Audiences will discover the world beneath the waves as they swim with fishes and grey reef sharks, and dive with Howard and Michele through amazing coral canyons. They will feel as though they are actually submerged deep in the ocean, suspended in the currents, and will experience the thrill of close contact as reef sharks and other sea creatures glide by.

Following The Living Sea and Dolphins, Coral Reef Adventure is the third ocean-themed film produced by MacGillivray Freeman’s Films. Featuring music from Crosby, Stills and Nash, Coral Reef Adventure will open at the Canadian Museum of Civilization’s IMAX Theatre on October 10, 2003, and will be presented alongside Pulse: a STOMP Odyssey.
