  Administrative Assistant

The Marketing, Business Operations and Client Services Division is currently seeking a dynamic individual who will, reporting to the Director, Marketing, Business Operations and Client Services, provide administrative and clerical support to aid in the planning and co-ordination of the Director's area of responsibility; assist in the efficient administration of the day-to-day operations of the Division, including filing and bring forward systems, maintaining schedules where appropriate and preparing correspondence; provide support to other sections of the division; and perform other related duties.

  Program Planner

The Programs and Canadian Children's Museum Division is currently seeking a dynamic individual who will, under the Senior Program Planner conceive, plan, develop, implement and evaluate all stages of programming of the Canadian Postal Museum by blending creativity and imagination with a knowledge of current museological and public programming practices in order to ensure the effective and efficient provision of services and dynamic programming to Museum visitors and targetted audiences, on and off-site, both regionally and nationally; provide programme component for exhibition planning and perform others related duties, as requested.

Work for the CMCC

The Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation (CMCC) is a member of the Canadian Heritage Portfolio and reports to Parliament through the Minister of Canadian Heritage. Along with other Portfolio members, the Corporation protects and exhibits Canada's heritage for current and future generations. The Corporation also plays a vital role in fostering a sense of Canadian identity, reaching a diverse – and growing – audience through its research and public programming activities.

Through its activities, the Corporation practices museological excellence, thereby promoting a greater understanding of Canadian identity, history and culture. In addition to its presence within the National Capital Region, the Corporation disseminates its knowledge throughout Canada and the world – largely through electronic outreach.

The CMCC has a number of challenging positions in the areas of Client Services, Exhibition and Program development, Museum Services to name a few that require to be staffed from time to time and maintains an active data base of candidates interested in working for the CMCC.
