A sneak preview of what awaits you at the new Canadian War Museum.
Bring your class in May and June 2005 and be among the
first to visit the new Canadian War Museum! Your students will be able to
experience Canada's military history as never before. They will feel what
it was like to live in a trench or sail on a warship. They will see war
through the eyes of artists, soldiers and families. They will hear the
stories of ordinary Canadians who lived in extraordinary times - and
understand why it matters to them.
In visiting the new permanent exhibitions, your students will be immersed
in history. The Museum will offer opportunities for every learner: through
compelling personal stories, dramatic multimedia presentations, unique and
precious artifacts, works of art and opportunities to touch the past.
Organized chronologically, the new Canadian War Museum will reveal, more
than ever, how war has affected Canada and all Canadians.
In September 2005, we will launch our new School
Programmes. With a different approach for every age level, all of our
programmes will be relevant to your curriculum. You will have increased
choice in building your programme: look for hands-on activities, meetings
with experts and veterans, gallery demonstrations, self-directed
exploration and special education events. With every programme, you can
expect more student involvement, more interaction with artifacts and more
face-to-face encounters with history.
