The Canadian Museum of Civilization marks Black History Month Gatineau, Quebec, January 21, 2005 — February is Black History Month, and the Canadian Museum of Civilization invites you to discover how Black inventors and intellectuals have helped shape our history. On February 3, come and meet Haitian writer Yves Antoine at the launch of his book Inventeurs et savants noirs (L'Harmattan, Paris).
With this book, lecturer, teacher, poet, scholar and author Yves Antoine raises curiosity and encourages people to learn more about the significant contributions Blacks have made to science and technology. His presentation will reveal some little-known facts from Canadian history, while giving well-earned recognition to men and women who are virtually unknown to the general public.
Yves Antoine has published a dozen works to date, in addition to contributing to several journals and reviews.
