Easter Eggs-stravaganza at the Canadian Museum of Civilization


Gatineau, Quebec, March 11, 2005 — The Canadian Museum of Civilization is open every day during Easter weekend, from Good Friday, March 25 to Easter Monday, March 28. It’s the perfect time to come with the whole family and enjoy our many activities and exhibitions.

At the Canadian Children’s Museum, kids of all ages will have fun participating in the Golden Egg Hunt, Ukrainian egg-decorating, games and crafts. The Easter Bunny will also be hopping around throughout the day, and you can visit the new disability awareness exhibition, access/ABILITY, presented until April 24, 2005.

Easter Fun for Preschoolers
Help decorate a giant egg tree with artful eggs; play the Italian game La Righea; join the Golden Egg Hunt and find 12 golden eggs hidden throughout the Museum with the Easter Bunny’s help.
March 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Golden Egg Hunt (for all ages)
The Easter Bunny has hidden twelve golden eggs in secret locations throughout the Canadian Children’s Museum, and we need your help to find them!
March 25 to 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

An Eggs-ceptional Eggs-stravaganza
Explore different ways to transform an egg into a work of art, learn how to play the northern Italian game La Righea — a new game begins on the hour, starting at 11:00 a.m. — and more.
Ukrainian egg-decorating at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Meet the Easter Bunny at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Every day at the Canadian Postal Museum, adults and children can join in Special Delivery, a series of educational and interactive games, questions and enigmas. You can also enjoy two exhibitions, Postage Stamps: Image of a Country and Mercury Mail.

Other exciting special exhibitions:
Cool ’60s Design – See how craft and design kept pace with dramatic changes in Canada in the 1960s (to November 27, 2005).
Once in French America – On the 400th anniversary of French settlement in North America, this major exhibition looks at how people lived and developed new societies (to March 28, 2005).
Gift of the Gods: The Art of Wine from the Ancient World to Canadian Vineyards – A captivating exhibition celebrating the role of wine in the art and cultures of Europe and the New World (to April 3, 2005).
