Discover the art of stamp engraving at the Canadian Museum of Civilization Gatineau, Quebec, March 23, 2005 — The Canadian Postal Museum in the Canadian Museum of Civilization presents Stamp Engraving, a new activity for visitors ages 12 and up. On April 9 and 16, learn the secrets of making a postage stamp and create your own with the help of Yves Baril, an engraver with over 40 years of experience at the Canadian Bank Note Company.
During these drop-in workshops, Mr. Baril will demonstrate various engraving methods and tools, present postage stamps he engraved during his career and help participants make a personalized postage stamp.
