Photography Contest celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Museum of Civilization
How do you see your Museum?
Take part in our photography contest. During the months of June, July and August 2005, take a picture of the Canadian Museum of Civilization in all its curvaceous glory. Be as creative and original as you can. We are looking for an image that is both unique and representative of this architectural masterpiece.
The contest is open to all Canadian citizens.
Your photo must be printed in colour, 8” x 10” format, with an excellent print resolution.
Three finalists will be selected. The prizewinning photo will be reproduced on a commemorative poster being launched in May 2006 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Museum of Civilization (CMC).
Prizes for the winning photographer:
- The prizewinning photo will be reproduced on the commemorative poster designed and produced by Stéphane Breton of the CMC Design Team under the direction of Dario Catana;
- A laminated or framed copy of the poster;
- Duo Membership for one adult (valid one year, for both museums);
- A $100 gift certificate to the Café du Musée;
- A year’s membership to the IMAX Club;
- A book on the CMC (Malak).
Prizes for the two semifinalists:
- Each will receive a laminated 11” x 14” copy of his or her photo;
- Duo Membership for one adult (valid one year, for both museums);
- A $50 gift certificate to the Café du Musée;
- A year’s membership to the IMAX Club;
- A book on the CMC (Malak).
The jury is made up of the following individuals:

- Julie Marion, Advertising and Promotions Officer, CMC
- Odette Dumas, Chief, Corporate Communications, CMC
- Dario Catana, Manager, Design
- Stéphane Breton, Graphic Designer
- Dennis Fletcher, Technician, Iconographic Archives
Deadline for submissions is Tuesday, September 6, 2005. Photos should be delivered to the Canadian Museum of Civilization, att. Chief, Corporate Communications, 100 Laurier, P.O. 3100, Station B., Gatineau, Quebec J8X 4H2.

Please note that copyright on the winning photo must be assigned to the CMCC. The CMCC reserves its right to use and modify the photo in a way that the Museum may deem to be in its best interest. The photographer will be acknowledged in any public use of the photo.
