A Lively Portrait of the People of Pompeii The third lecture on Pompeii Gatineau, Quebec, June 8, 2005 — On June 23, 2005 at 7:00 p.m., the Canadian Museum of Civilization will present the third in the Pompeii lecture series, to complement to the new exhibition, POMPEII. This lecture, entitled A Lively Portrait of the People of Pompeii, is being given by Dr. Marie-Pierre Bussières from the University of Ottawa, who will discuss love, life, death and popular culture as depicted by ancient graffiti found in Pompeii.
Dr. Marie-Pierre Bussières is a Professor of Classical Studies at the University of Ottawa. She has served as Secrétaire de la Societé des Études Anciennes du Québec. Professor Bussières has published and translated numerous articles on ancient Christianity and late antiquity.
