Last chance to visit Pompeii and experience Roman-style festivities

Gatineau, Quebec, August 29, 2005 — As the final days of the landmark POMPEII exhibition are counted down, spend an evening savouring the ambiance and atmosphere of life as it was in Pompeii before the fateful day of August 24 in A.D. 79, 1926 years ago. Special activities include a visit of the exhibition; olive oil tasting courtesy of La Bottega Nicastro’s; tasting Italian wines from the Pompeii region; a pottery demonstration by Tim Thibeault of The Ottawa Guild of Potters; and Pompeii-themed music by lute player Andrew Huggett and flutist Colin Everett, all this under the watchful eye of the Roman soldier, “Marcus Darius Firmitus.”
