Stepping into the 1940s at the Canadian War Museum’s 125th Anniversary Celebration Ottawa, Ontario, November 7, 2005 — A dramatic 1940s theme transformed the Canadian War Museum for its 125th Anniversary Celebration making it an unforgettable occasion for the close to 150 people in attendance.
Co‑chairing this exclusive event, held at the Museum on November 2, were General Paul Manson (Ret’d) and Mr. Harvey Slack, members of the Museum’s Board of Trustees. Highlights of the evening included a cocktail reception and the Ottawa premiere of Theatre Panache’s evocative re-creation of a 1940s CBC radio show, Till We Meet Again. The Presenting Sponsors for the celebration were Veterans Affairs Canada and Mincom®, a global technology company that specializes in e-business solutions for the defence, government, mining and transportation sectors. The Canadian Defence Industries Association was also a major supporter of the event.
Proceeds from the anniversary celebration, including ticket sales, donations and funds contributed through sponsorship opportunities, totaled $21,000. This money will support the preservation and protection of the Canadian War Museum’s collection — one of the finest collections of military art and artifacts in the world.
