Valentines for Vets at the Canadian War Museum

Ottawa, Ontario, December 21, 2005 — The Canadian War Museum (CWM) is pleased to announce special programming for the month of January.

The CWM will be participating in Valentines for Vets, a special programme of the Department of Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC).

The “Valentines for Vets” concept began in 1989 when American advice columnist Ann Landers asked her readers to remember their nation's veterans on Valentine's Day. VAC began supporting the project 10 years ago. All valentines received by the Department are distributed to veterans in long-term care facilities across the country.

Visitors to the CWM will have an opportunity to make Valentines, which will be distributed by VAC. Craft materials will be supplied.

This activity will take place in the Lobby of the Canadian War Museum every weekend in January between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
