A Caring Profession: Centuries of Nursing in Canada
The exhibition explores the history of vocational and professional nursing in Canada through three distinct themes: Canada’s two parallel nursing traditions — the religious Catholic model and the secular British-inspired model; the nurse in the hospital; and the nurse at the patient’s bedside. This exhibition is the first to describe the development of nursing across the country, in every province and territory.
