The family home is a place to gather and create unique
family activities. Welcome to the Japanese house, where
family life is a blend of old and new.

This exhibit is a re-creation of a Japanese home where
children learn the importance of family traditions.

Friends and honoured guests join us in the
tatami (straw-matting) room. Before you enter the
tatami room, please remove your shoes in the genkan
(entrance). You will be following a Japanese custom.
