Inuit and Englishmen: The Nunavut Voyages of Martin Frobisher
From:  March 30, 1999
To:      February 6, 2000

The exhibition presents Martin Frobisher's 1576-78 expeditions to Nunavut in Arctic Canada as an important event in the long history of relationships between Inuit and Europeans. This was the first European expedition to search for a Northwest Passage to Asia, the first large scale mining venture in Canada, and the earliest attempt by the English to establish a colony in the New World.
