Patterns of Connection
From: April 30, 1993 To: August 1, 1993 |
This photo-composition series is about renewing the white people’s perceptions of Aboriginal people. The guiding element behind this work came to the artist Leah King-Smith. She is showing her concerns about photographs taken of indigenous peoples in the 19th century, evidence of the cultural bias of the civilization which produced them.
This exhibition has been produced by the Southeast Museum of Photography, Daytona Beach, Florida and the Australian Centre for Photography, Sydney, with the support of the office of Cultural Affairs, Embassy of Australia, Washington D.C.
