Mystery of the Nile
Presented on the IMAX Dome
The Blue Nile is known as the Mount Everest of Rivers. Many explorers
have tried to navigate the entire Nile, but all have failed. On Christmas
Day, 2003, Pasquale Scaturro and a team of explorers set out on an epic quest
to become the first to complete a full descent of the world's greatest river:
the combined Blue Nile and White Nile, from source to sea. Four months later
on April 28, 2004 at 7:01a.m. Pasquale and his expedition partner
Gordon Brown reached the mouth of the Nile at the Mediterranean Sea, becoming
the first men in history to complete this 5,230-kilometre journey.
"The team had to overcome enormous hurdles suicidal rapids,
crocodile attacks, malaria they've even been shot at by local bandits
and arrested by the military," said Greg MacGillivray, producer of the
movie. "Their determination to reach their destination was truly remarkable.
At a time when the turmoil in the Middle East dominates the news, theirs is
an uplifting human-interest story of epic proportions one that we
hope will bring people of all cultures closer together."
Mystery of the Nile tells the story of this emotional
and historic expedition, while also exploring the cultural and environmental
links between the Ethiopian, Sudanese and Egyptian civilizations. Both
a captivating human adventure and a serious in-depth look at this fascinating
yet little-known region, Mystery of the Nile promises another
exciting and educational giant-screen experience.

Dolphins
Presented on the IMAX Dome
From the dazzling coral reefs of the Bahamas to the wind-swept seas
of Patagonia, Dolphins takes viewers for a romp with inquisitive Atlantic
spotted dolphins, acrobatic dusky dolphins, and the familiar bottlenose
dolphin of Flipper fame. While few of us will ever have the chance to
encounter a dolphin in the wild, audiences will feel like they are swimming
alongside these playful creatures when they view Dolphins on the IMAX Dome.
The film also explores the dolphin-human bond, and audiences will be
intrigued by the relationship between JoJo, a rare lone dolphin in the
Turks & Caicos Islands, and his friend, naturalist Dean Bernal. Their
story portrays the beauty and mystery of inter-species communication.
