Clash of Empires Walk & Talk tours at the Canadian War MuseumOttawa, Ontario, July 21, 2006 — In conjunction with Clash of Empires: The War That Made Canada 1754–1763, the Canadian War Museum is offering a number of its popular Walk & Talk tours of this special exhibition — with expert commentary provided by curators and collections managers!
Uniforms and Insignia – July 30 at 3 p.m. Eric Fernberg Eric Fernberg is the CWM's Dress and Insignia collection manager, and is responsible for researching and maintaining its important uniform, insignia and medals collections. Mr. Fernberg will lead visitors on an expert tour of the uniforms and clothing in the exhibition.
Weaponry – August 27 at 3 p.m. Phil White Phil White is the CWM's former Arms and Armour collection manager. Mr. White will lead visitors on an excursion through the exhibition to better understand 18th-century weapons.
History – September 24 at 3 p.m. Dr. D. Peter MacLeod Dr. MacLeod is the CWM's expert in pre-Confederation Canadian history, and will lead visitors on a voyage of discovery of the Seven Years War and its importance in the development of Canada.
All tours are free with admission, but are limited to 25 participants. French-language tours are scheduled to depart at 1 p.m. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the event.
