The Canadian Horse featured Canada Day Weekend at the Canada Agriculture Museum - July 1 and 2

The Canadian Horse featured Canada Day Weekend
at the Canada Agriculture Museum - July 1 and 2

OTTAWA, June 23, 2006
For immediate release

This year the Canada Agriculture Museum is proud to present very special “Canadians” on Canada Day and July 2: Canadian Horses, Canada’s National Horse. Several Canadian-breed horses will be showing off their abilities in demonstrations provided by the Upper Canada District (Ontario) Canadian Horse Breeders. In 2002, to recognize the unique place of the Canadian Horse in the history of Canada, the Government of Canada passed the National Horse Act of Canada which provides for the recognition of the Canadian Horse as the national horse of Canada. In addition to Canadian Horses, the Museum will offer on July 1 and 2 popular Canada Day activities such as ice cream making and tasting, as well as fun-filled games and activities. The Canada Agriculture Museum, with its spacious grounds, new outdoor children's play structure and fascinating indoor exhibitions, is an inviting alternative to the crowds and traffic of downtown. The Museum, centrally located and easy to reach by bus, bicycle or car, offers free admission on July 1 and 2 and free parking everyday.
