On May 26, the Canada Agriculture Museum will host the second Food Aid Day event, a successful fundraiser for the Ottawa Food Bank.
CFRA will be broadcasting the second annual Food Aid radiothon live from the Museum from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.. Food Aid is a program created to buy and process beef from Ottawa-area farmers to give to users of the Ottawa Food Bank. Last year's event raised $115,000 in a single day, enabling the Ottawa Food Bank to distribute nearly 50 tons of locally-produced beef during the following eight months. This year's goal is $150,000 to fund the purchasing program for a full 12 months.
Visitors are invited to the Canada Agriculture Museum to participate in fun farm activities such as calf roping, watching a celebrity milking competition, farmers Olympics, as well as clown and live musical entertainment. Also visitors can enjoy a free BBQ starting at 11:00 and make a cash donation. Free admission all day.
