Come and cultivate learning and fun...
School Programs, 2006-2007

Discover life on the farm as students explore its seasonal cycles, make apple cider, bake bread, see farm technology at work, and experience the sights, smells and sounds of our barns. Our programs are designed to stimulate multiple intelligences as they bring to life your curricula in science and technology, and social studies. Come visit the museum that is also a modern working farm—right in the heart of the city!

In developing our 2006-2007 school programs for the Canada Agriculture Museum, we've ensured that programs are directly linked to school curricula — including the Ontario Science and Technology Curriculum and the Quebec Education Program. Our programs are designed to extend and enrich the classroom experience, giving your students a great opportunity for active, hands-on learning.

School Programs 2006-2007 - Descriptions

PROGRAM INFORMATION
Programs are available weekdays from September to June and are scheduled to start between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Some programs can be shortened to suit your requirements. All of our Educators are experts in adjusting the content to the level of your class.

Free visit preview

Teachers are welcome to visit the Museum, free of charge, by presenting proof of their teaching status at the Museum entrance.

PLANNING YOUR VISIT
During your program, Museum Educators will encourage teachers and accompanying adults to participate and assist with programs. Please remember, the Museum is also a demonstration farm, complete with the miracle of new life and the potential hazards of large animals and working machinery. Supervision during free time or with an independent visit is essential to creating a safe and fun atmosphere at the Museum. Students and accompanying adults should also dress appropriately (for farm and weather conditions).

GradeRatio
Elementary (K–8 or Secondary 2)   6:1
Secondary (9 or Secondary 3 and up)  10:1

We require the above student-adult ratios for student supervision when visiting the Canada Agriculture Museum. Teachers and supervisors are expected to remain with their students at all times.
