The National Town Hall: Canada at War

CBC TV to hold live town hall meeting in Ottawa

Ottawa — CBC TV's the National will hold a town hall to discuss Canada's role in Yugoslavia on Tuesday April 20, broadcast live from the Conference Centre in Ottawa. THE NATIONAL TOWN HALL: CANADA AT WAR will be hosted by Peter Mansbridge.

Participants in the town hall will discuss Canada's role in Yugoslavia, the political, military and humanitarian dimensions of the story as well as how we got to the current situation and where it might be going next.

The program will open with an interview recorded earlier that day with Prime Minister Jean Chretien and will be followed by audience participation and commentary from experts. It will be broadcast in each time zone from 9:00 PM to 11:30 PM and will therefore include The National.

Members of the public are invited to come and express their views and to ask questions. Tickets are available by calling 724-5788 to reserve space, with a limit of two tickets per caller.
