News ReleasesFebruary 6, 2003 CBC/Radio-Canada Calls Official Languages Committee Recommendation Good News for All CanadiansOttawa — CBC/Radio-Canada praises the House of Commons Standing Committee on Official Languages' recommendation today that the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) require direct broadcast satellite service providers to carry all of CBC/Radio-Canada's local and regional television signals. Currently, numerous French- and English-speaking Canadians are denied access to their national public broadcaster.
