CBC/Radio-Canada Pleased CBOT Ottawa Added to Star Choice Lineup

Ottawa — CBC/Radio-Canada is pleased to announce that, as of May, the full CBOT Ottawa television signal, including all local programming and Ottawa Senators games carried by Hockey Night in Canada, will be available to Star Choice satellite service subscribers.

"We're really pleased that Star Choice has agreed to add CBOT to its lineup," said Michel Tremblay, Vice-President, Strategy and Business Development, CBC/Radio-Canada. "This is good news for Star Choice subscribers and it's a positive step towards meeting our objective of ensuring that all Canadians have the greatest possible access to their national public broadcaster."

Given the growing importance of satellite television services in Canada, CBC/Radio-Canada has also offered to let Bell ExpressVu carry the full CBOT signal, including all local programming and Ottawa Senators games on Hockey Night in Canada.

"We'd be as delighted as their subscribers if Bell ExpressVu would accept our offer," said Tremblay. "We'll also continue to encourage Star Choice and Bell ExpressVu to add CBOFT, our French language television signal for the Ottawa area, to their permanent lineups."
