CBC/Radio-Canada Again One of Top Canadian Employers

CBC/Radio-Canada is pleased to be recognized again this year as one of this country's top employers, as chosen by Mediacorp Canada Inc. for the 2005 edition of Canada's Top 100 Employers. Notably, Canada's national public broadcaster is the only true broadcaster to be named, and the only cultural institution with a presence across the country to make it to this year's list.

"To be recognized as one of Canada's top 100 employers for the second year in a row is great news for CBC/Radio-Canada and its employees," said Robert Rabinovitch, President and CEO of CBC/Radio-Canada. "Four years ago, the Corporation embarked on a course to fundamentally transform itself as a business and a broadcaster. We have worked hard to improve our workplace, to allow our employees to do their best to serve Canadians, and we are very pleased that the opportunities we offer our employees have been noted again."

CBC/Radio-Canada was one of over 1,000 Canadian employers that started the application process for the Canada's Top 100 Employers competition for 2005, now in its fifth year. Mediacorp Canada Inc., publishers of the annual list, reviewed the recruitment histories of over 52,000 employers, and invited CBC/Radio-Canada to participate along with over 6,000 other employers, from which it was named to the Top 100. Mediacorp found that the employers that stayed on the Top 100 list this year, as did CBC/Radio-Canada, continued to improve their working conditions and benefits for employees, raising the bar for others in their industry.
