Inukshuk in Grise FiordLet us take you to the town on top of the world, Grise Fiord, which is located on Ellesmere Island, less than 1600 kilometres from the North Pole. Here you'll meet Larry Audlaluk, who was brought to the Fiord with his family back in the 1950's to help assert sovereignty in the north. Now they wait for the one ship that will bring supplies that will have to last an entire year.

Ed Roche is known around the world for his realist paintings of Newfoundland. A man with strong Irish roots, his family has always held a bit of a mystery about its past. Travel with him to the home country as he searches for long lost family, and paints the countryside of his ancestors.

Meet Myna Cryderman from Manitoba, Canada's top endurance horse rider. Travel with her as she competes in the Tevis Cup, considered by many to be the toughest horse race in the world.

A Passing:

Former CBC employee and host/contributor on Country Calendar and Country Canada, Ron Neily has died. Ron passed away in Chatham, Ontario hospital on Wednesday, October 18. He had lived in Wheatley for many years.
Ron worked on the program in the 1960's and 70's and was the executive producer of radio in Windsor, Ontario when he retired in 1986.
