Johanne Brunet was appointed to the Board of Directors of CBC/Radio-Canada on April 21, 2005, for a five-year term.

Ms. Brunet joined HEC-Montréal in 2003 where she has taught marketing since 2005. From 2001 to 2003, she was Executive Vice-President and Partner of Distraction Formats, which acquires and sells production formats in over 50 countries. For two years prior to that, she was Executive Vice-President of TV5 Amériques, where she oversaw operations and planning in Canada, the United States and South America.

From 1977 to 1998, Ms. Brunet held various positions with CBC/Radio-Canada. At Radio-Canada, she was Director, External Production and Program Acquisitions (1993 to 1998); Production Manager, Youth Programs (1990 to 1993); Director, Planning and Administration (1985 to 1990); Chief of Staff, Office of the President (1984 to 1985); and Administrative Officer, Radio Programming (1983 to 1984). At CBC, she was Manager, Human Resources (1981 to 1983); Producer of The National (1981); and Director/Administrator of Current Affairs (1979 to 1981). Finally, in Vancouver, Ms. Brunet served as Assistant to the General Manager (1977 to 1979) and Accountant (1976 to 1977).

Ms. Brunet has served on a number of committees and boards of directors in England. She has been Vice-Chair and Administrator of the Academy of International Management in London; Administrator and Director of Poles Production and Communications; and member of the Advisory Committee for the Communications Program of London's American Intercontinental University.

She has also sat on and chaired Vivavision Inc.'s Compensation Committee and is a former member of Fairfax University's Advisory Committee, which awarded her an Honorary Doctor of Business Administration degree. In 1999, Ms. Brunet received the Action femmes d'affaires award from the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal.
