  • The 'Other Revolution': Louis Robichaud's New Brunswick
New Brunswick’s first Acadian premier, Louis Robichaud, brought massive change to his beloved province, but not without a cost. In these activities, students will first learn about the history of the Acadians in New Brunswick. They will prepare and role-play an interview with Louis Robichaud to learn more about the man and his life. They will compare the impact of Louis Robichaud and of Kenneth C. Irving on the economic life of New Brunswick, and prepare a position paper sharing their opinion of Louis Robichaud’s Program of Equal Opportunity and the legacy he left behind. Finally, they have the opportunity to write a formal report detailing the progress of New Brunswick’s approaches to bilingualism.
