  • At Loggerheads: The Canada-U.S. Softwood Lumber Dispute
Canada and the United States enjoy an easy trade relationship except in one area: softwood lumber. The ongoing dispute over lumber tariffs continues to both benefit and affect the industry and individual Canadians. In these activities, students will have the opportunity to create a collage to explain the impact of the softwood lumber industry on Canadians and Americans, to identify and discuss the groups who benefit from the dispute and its related policies, as well as those who suffer from them, to investigate and suggest possible solutions to the dispute, and to use presentation software to outline the origins, challenges, and positions formed during the ongoing dispute.
