It's Saturday Oct 11, 1969 and Montreal is still reeling after a police strike sparked a night of rampant crime and violence across the city. In a hastily arranged weekend press conference, city officials gather to point the finger at an unlikely suspect: the non-profit Company of Young Canadians. In a scathing address, the administration accuses the group of sheltering FLQ extremists, masterminding violent demonstrations and plotting to make bombs. In this clip from CBC Television, the allegations are made and a CYC official responds.
