  • Computer Invasion: A History of Automation in Canada
Described as "gigantic brains," computers were once so big they filled entire rooms. Once the computer chip was miniaturized, computer use increased exponentially. Miniaturization and increasing computer speed have affected our jobs, our free time, and our home life, and more changes are sure to come. In these activities, students will explore how computers have changed our lives and culture and produce a collage to illustrate their ideas, create a flowchart or web representation of how computer use has spread throughout our society, debate the positive and negative consequences of a computer-driven workplace, and write a research paper about the future of computer technology.
