Goodbye Ernest Hemingway, old friend

 

The friendship between Morley Callaghan and Ernest Hemingway was a legend itself. It began in the early twenties at the Toronto Star, where the two young reporters swapped short stories. When Hemingway moved to Paris he encouraged Callaghan to come along. That he did, and the pair continued their camaraderie in a summer that went down in literary history. Half a century later, Morley Callaghan reminisces about his old friend, two days after his death.
