October 28, 2006
From 1-2
What makes a really great leader? That’s the question we ask
with Sook-Yin’s co-host for the hour - the Right Honourable Adrienne
Clarkson. To begin with, we’ll play a round of “Pop Culture Firsts”
with Adrienne, and find out why a job in the customer complaints
department was great training for the future Governor General.
Sarah Lazarovic will tell us why you can have all the vision, talent,
and charisma you want - but the key to leadership is all in your
coiffure.
Mike Bell will put two very regal new movies toe-to-toe - The Queen
and Marie Antoinette.
Sook-Yin will try to get Adrienne to dish the dirt on the real queen
and other world leaders. Will it be a gossipy mudfest?
Our resident TV addict, Tara Ariano, will tell us how she found
a shining example of leadership in the most unexpected place - on
the Thursday night TV lineup.
And we’ll have tunes that lead the pack from Tears For Fears, Tony
Bennett, R.E.M., The Dears, and opera diva Maria Callas... even
though the show is Definitely Not the Opera. Hey, we keep an open
mind.
From 2-3
We’ll get into the spirit of the season as Internet audio tipster
John Pellatt brings us the sounds of the paranormal. Don’t listen
to it alone...
And speaking of scary, John will stick around to play the latest
round of “What’s On Sook-Yin’s iPod?”
In case you’re looking for something to watch Hallowe’en night,
Joff Schmidt will tip us off to an overlooked zombie classic...
from the director of Porky’s.
Sook-Yin will sit down for a spooky Q&A; with John Mann of Spirit
of the West.
Liisa Ladouceur will be by with a music tip that’s a little scary,
but still family-friendly - a tune by The Gothic Archies from a
compilation of music written for the Lemony Snicket series of books.
And DNTO fashion columnist Rhonda Riche will tell us why there’s
never been a better time to add a little gothic style to your wardrobe.
Plus spooky (and not-so-spooky) music from The Scissor Sisters,
Al Green, Rob Zombie, and Spirit of the West.
From 3-4
We’ve got a live concert from Spirit of the West, recorded last
August in Vancouver. And to sweeten the deal, Sook-Yin’s co-host
for this hour is SOTW’s John Mann.
And you can now see the finalists in our DNTO Squares
contest! Thanks to everyone who entered - we were knocked out by
the creativity of our crafty listeners, and you will be too. Click

handiwork.
DNTO's theme music is "Bentley's Gonna Sort You Out" by Bentley Rhythm Ace. ![Back to Top](/web/20061029164257im_/http://www.cbc.ca/common_radio/images/back_to_top.gif) |
