Different Ways of Listening to RCI Whether in Canada or abroad, you can tune in to Radio Canada International through analog and soon digital shortwave, Internet, satellite and on public, private, community and University stations in many countries. A Full Range of Programs in Nine Languages RCI broadcasts a full range of daily and weekly programs in English, French, Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, Mandarin, Cantonese , Arabic and Portuguese. RCI also broadcasts a bouquet of CBC/Radio-Canada programs. These consist of national and international news, regional events from across Canada, in-depth analysis, reports and interviews on political, economic, social, scientific and cultural issues. RCI also produces weekly and monthly programs that are sent to numerous partner stations around the world and broadcast locally in English, French, Spanish, Russian and Chinese: RCI produces language lessons designed for radio. These English and French lessons aim to teach children from 7 to 12 years old and their parents, either one or the other official language of Canada (French and English). Using tales, legends, nursery rhymes, traditional songs and games from Canadian culture and tradition, this program combines educational and entertaining means to teach children a second language. These programs are broadcast on RCI as well as on its web site.
Most of Radio Canada International's staff is based in Montreal. RCI has regional reporters in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and in the nation's capital, Ottawa. RCI's Place in International Broadcasting RCI is a member of international organizations such as AIB (Association for International Broadcasting), NABA (North American Broadcasters' Association), CBA (Commonwealth Broadcasting Association), CBU (Caribbean Broadcasting Union), ABU (Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union), DRM (Digital Radio Mondiale). RCI is also an associate member of the European Broadcasting Union.
