Saturday Morning Art and Photo Club

Don’t miss the Saturday Morning Art and Photo Club series, where participants will have fantastic artistic experiences. Discover masterpieces and explore various artmaking techniques, such as printmaking, painting, sculpture, and photography. Each workshop in this series includes an in-gallery visit and a studio project. For children ages 8 to 12. Maximum 25 participants. Bilingual. Cost for the series: $74.30 (Friends $64.40). Saturday 14 October • Exploring printmaking!
Discover the prints of two famous Canadian artists: Edwin Holgate and Clarence Gagnon. In the studio, explore printmaking techniques and create your own masterpieces.

Saturday 21 October • I’m a photographer!
Visit the exhibition The Painted Photograph and admire the landscape photographs on display, then go on a photo shoot in the park – rain or shine!

Saturday 28 October • Painted photographs!
Visit a darkroom to learn the ins and outs of developing photographs, then enhance your best landscape photo with carefully applied colour.

Saturday 4 November • I’m a portraitist!
Learn the secrets of portraiture and be inspired by the works of Edwin Holgate, then paint a masterful portrait and frame it in fitting style.

Saturday 11 November • Remembrance Day (the Gallery is closed until noon)

Saturday 18 November • I like sculpture!
Explore the galleries to find the best sculpted busts in the collection. Aren’t they amazing? Then it’s your turn to create a clay bust to display with pride.

Saturday 25 November • The art of framing
Using varied and fanciful materials, decorate frames to show your artwork to its best advantage. Then prepare an exhibition so your family and friends can come and admire your creations.
