Allergy alert: Undeclared sesame seed in ENER-G Wylde Pretzels
Thursday, October 26, 2006 | 09:47 AM ET
People with allergies to sesame seeds should not consume ENER-G brand Wylde Pretzels, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency says.
The products, which have been distributed in Ontario and possibly across Canada, failed to declare sesame seeds on their labels.
Included in the recall are the 227- and 113-gram packages with the UPC numbers 0 75119 64725 5 and 0 75119 64715 6.
The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the voluntary recall and is conducting an investigation. There has been one associated illness reported.
These products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in people with sesame seed allergies, the agency said.
