How do I contact the local news departments with a news tip?
If you’ve got a news tip, you can call the assignment desk of CBC Radio One news in St. John's at (709) 576-5225, or toll free 1-866-576-5225; in Gander at (709) 256-4311; in Grand Falls - Windsor (709) 489-2102; in Corner Brook at (709) 637-1172 or toll free 1-800-777-0990; in Happy Valley - Goose Bay at (709) 896-2911; and in Labrador City at (709) 944-3611. You can phone the CBC News: Here & Now assignment desk at (709) 576-5110 for TV news but please note that this desk is closed after business hours.

   
2. How do I get my school announcement on the air?
If you have an announcement about a school closure, late bus or any other late-breaking development, please call (709) 576-5225, or toll-free 1-866-576-5225. Routine announcements can be faxed to 576-5234.
   
3. How do I suggest an idea or pose a question to a local show?
Go to the Programs page, and follow the link to the show. Look for the “Contact” link for that show in the left-hand side of the show’s page.
   
4. How do I suggest an idea or pose a question to a national show?
Go to Programs A-Z, look for the listing for that show, then follow the link to the website for that show. Look for the “Contact Us” section of the site.
   
5. How can I find out the name of the song I just heard on CBC Radio?
This information can be found on the CBC.ca FAQs page.

Can I get transcripts and/or tapes of programs?

Neither CBC Radio nor CBC Television in Newfoundland and Labrador provide transcripts.

Tapes of programs:
CBC Radio
CBC Newfoundland and Labrador may provide audio copies of items broadcast on these regional radio programs: St. John's Morning Show, Radio Noon, On the Go, Weekend Arts Magazine, The Central Morning Show, The Fisheries Broadcast, The West Coast Morning Show, and Labrador Morning. Certain restrictions apply.

The cost of this service is $20 for items up to 30-minutes in duration plus an extra $20 per each subsequent 30-minute period (including postage and handling). Payment is by cheque to CBC Radio.

Audio copies may be requested in either the cassette of CD format.

CBC DOES NOT provide video copies of any programs featuring musical, comedy or artistic performances (ex: This Hour Has 22 Minutes, East Coast Music Awards, Songwriters’ Circle). This is due to performance, and/or music rights.

For audio copies of all CBC Radio current affairs programs, please call Bowden’s Media Monitoring in Toronto toll free # 1-800-363-1530.

For video copies of all CBC Television or CBC Newsworld programs, call Bowden’s Media Monitoring toll free # 1-800-363-1281.

These services are available at a cost and only for programs within last 3 months (some programs up to 12 months). You must know the name of the program and date of broadcast.

CBC Radio will accept public service announcements for non-profit organizations. PSA information may be faxed to the St. John’s Morning Show at (709) 576-5234 or you may mail your PSA information to:
