Students who are new to Calgary and Canada often take English as a Second Language through the Calgary Board of Education. But what happens if your child is automatically enrolled in this class and english is their ONLY language. The CBC's Kim Bockman brings us the story of a family who was faced with this situation.

World's Oldest Basketball Team (7.38)
Jim spoke with Connie Nixon and Marg Southern, 2 members of The Retreads, the World's first over 65 womens basketball team. They are featured in a documentary that airs Friday night on CITY TV at 9PM.
Karma Closing (runs:5.39)
The Karma Local Arts House is widely considered one of Calgary's main hubs for local music. Its where budding musicians and music lovers would meet and showcase their songs on the tiny Karma stage. Head down there on any given night this month and you're likely to find it packed to capacity. Just be sure to get there before next Wednesday, because come November 1st, Karma will be a vacant building waiting to be demolished. The Eyeopener's Chris dela Torre reports.
