The Yukon Party's Steve Nordick has managed to recapture the Klondike riding in the territorial election.
Nordick defeated NDP candidate Jorn Meier, Liberal candidate Steve Taylor and Independent Glen Everitt, the former mayor of Dawson City.
Nordick is the operations manager for Mackenzie Petroleum and Kluane Freight Lines, and co-owner of 5th Avenue Bed and Breakfast in the community.
The Klondike was one of three ridings without an incumbent during this election.
Dawson City hotelier Peter Jenkins, who had held the riding since 1996, decided not to run again for personal reasons.
Jenkins was a high-profile cabinet minister in Dennis Fentie's Yukon Party government when it fired the mayor, Everitt, and his councillors for financial mismanagement.
However Jenkins ended the term sitting in opposition as an Independent after a dispute over an unpaid government loan, which he later repaid.
A promised bridge over the Yukon River also failed to materialize despite promises by the Yukon Party.
After two years with no town council, the Fentie government finally allowed the community to elect a new council in June.
It also agreed to forgive some of the money the community owes the government.
