Friday, October 14, 2005: Daughter an ocean away.
When Meagan Clarke lost her daughter's passport she had no idea the grief it would cause them both.
Last week, Meagan, her husband and her 18-month-old daughter Saskia went on a family trip to Ireland.
But when it came time to leave, airport officials in Belfast wouldn't let the toddler leave the country.
Now the mother is back in Halifax, and her little daughter is an ocean away.

Friday, August 5, 2005: Newfoundland, or Bust!
Memorial University is becoming a magnet for Nova Scotian undergraduates. Almost 500 students from this province were at the St. John's campus last semester. A full year at Memorial costs just over 25-hundred dollars. Tuition for a year of the same program at Dalhousie costs about 56-hundred. Shane O'Day teaches English at Memorial.


Wednesday, August 3, 2005: Heroes in the sky.
It was an airline passenger's worst fear come true. Tuesday's crash landing at Pearson International Airport could have had far more tragic results. But a rapid response by the crew of Air France flight 3-5-8 helped ensure that all 309 people on board survived.

Summertime means fun time for most kids...the activities are endless...there's swimming, sports, camping...ghost hunting. Well, at least that's what happens when Angela Black and Emmie Seegal team up for the summer in Mahone Bay.  The inseparable friends are characters in a new book for young people, called The Ghost at Mahone Bay. Wednesday, July 27, 2005: Letting Art Tell a Story
Sometimes, the hands can express what words can not.
That's the idea behind a project helping immigrant women tell their personal stories about what it's like to come to a new country.
Researchers at Mount Saint Vincent University use different artistic media to allow new Nova Scotians -- many of whom were teachers in their home countries - to overcome language barriers and to share their experiences.

A discovery on a Hants County beach may help scientists understand more about what was happening 350-million years ago. It was a time when the first life forms were crawling out of the seas and starting to populate the land. The pelvis bone of one of those rare creatures has been found on Blue Beach near Hantsport.
