Amistad Journey: A life-changing experience
In August, three African Nova Scotian teenagers sailed from Halifax to Portland aboard the Freedom Schooner, Amistad. In 1839, the original Amistad carried 49 captive Africans on a terrible journey that ultimately led to their freedom. On-board footage provided by Wojtek Wacowski. (runs 6:33)
